As BSEC President in 2018, I spearheaded our STEMonstrations program wherein Caltech’s Black and Latinx students join forces to bring live science demonstrations to high school science classes throughout Pasadena.

The Rise Program began in 2006 with 45 tutors and 50 students. The program has grown tremendously since then. Last year, we served 133 students from the Pasadena area with 150 tutors.

With the support and generosity of Caltech staff, students, the Pasadena Delta Foundation, and PUSD staff, I was able to fund and accompany 14 aspiring doctors from all four of PUSD’s high schools to ABRCMS 2019 in Anaheim, California.
